The Lenox Sportsmen’s Club offers the Basic Pistol Course, whenever there are enough people signed up. We hold the Course at the Club over 2 days; the first day is for pistol instruction, state and federal laws, and shooting safety. Day 2 you get the chance to shoot different guns in the range, to get a sense of shooting, to reinforce safety, and to learn some basic skills. You also realize it’s a skill to learn, like most new things, and it is worth coming back to practice. You will truly enjoy it, we think.
It‘s an excellent course to take – lots of women have been signing up to take it! Call Vicki White or Cliff White to sign up, 442-8107 or email them: cliffxring@gmail.com.

October Mountain Sharpshooters (OMS) is an educational program designed to teach the participants gun safety, and 3-position Olympic Style small-bore precision rifle shooting.
It is a goal-oriented program, with shooters learning focus and discipline. But they also have fun as they practice, with awards given as they move up to a new level. They use the NRA Marksmanship Qualification for small-bore rifle to award shooters as they improve their skill level. OMS was started by Richard Wisenbaker with grants from the NRA, and help from the Lenox Sportsmen’s Club.
Our current coaches, Ed Bishop, Chuck Jones, and Brady Kerr, have received Level 1 coach’s training from the NRA and USA shooting.
All levels of shooters are welcome. Beginning shooters are taught the NRA Basic Safety course. We supply all equipment necessary to get started, but you can bring your own equipment if you are an experienced shooter.
We hold all practices at the Lenox Sportsmen’s Club, which generously sponsors us with space and financial support. The coaches and parents who run the team are volunteers, who donate their time and energy for the kids.
